I blame this on my not living with my family during the semester. I've figured out they have been my #1 distraction all these years.

You Should Rule Mars
|

Mars is a planet that shines brightly and loops wildly around the solar system.
You are perfect to rule Mars, because you are both energetic and independent.
Like Mars, you seems attractive and bright to others - but you're difficult to pin down.
You are a great thinker, but you only think in the present and ignore the future.
Full of enthusiasm and inspiration, you are into your own thing... and rather insensitive to others.
|
You Should Get a MFA (Masters of Fine Arts)
|

You're a blooming artistic talent, even if you aren't quite convinced.
You'd make an incredible artist, photographer, or film maker.

You've Experienced 48% of Life
|

You have a good deal of life experience, about as much as someone in their late 20s.
You've seen and done enough to be quite wise, but you still have a lot of life to look forward to.

i had the most frightening experince yesterday. i was in dover waiting for my mother on blackwell street and this creepy no teeth always drunk homeless guy apprached me babbling about wanting to being me home and making very lude comments. it was the one time there was nobody else on the section of blackwell street i was on. I asked him to go away, then yelled but he continued to walk closer to me. So I took my swiss army knife out and threatened to gouge his eyes out if he got any closer. Then he turned around and walked away. I eventually met up with my mother. I got in the car and cried because i really wanted to earlier. this wouldn't of happened if i were a man

I was very ill for awhile overdosing on Lutera(birthcontrol) without even knowing it. i followed the instructions as i should but it was just too strong for my little body. After a month period of being medication free I started the ring.. lets see how this works out.
besides that i'm warapping up the semester, graduating from CCM and tranfering to NJCU, woo! hopefully i'll be living on campus instead of commuting. it would just make studio and lab time easier for not to mention i'll be closer to my baby.

i went to hotel vernon's ship room last night for a benifit show. got to see a few bands play, met a bunch of new folks. one the the new folks i met works at the land trust which is located among the worcester publishing offices. i've been taking free bike repair lessons at this program called earn a bike. the guy who runs it is from essex county, nj. he loves worcester and told me he'll never go back.
my internship has been giving me more assignments lately which is good because that means more of my work being published thought it also means coming home late and tired. the editor of worcester magazine is preparing a photo essay for me to work on. worcester business journal had me attend all their last couple staff meetings. i also sprung a good deal with the business journal. i showed the managing editor some of my artwork and she loved it. she wants to look at more of my work to see if some can be used for front covers for special edition issues, hopefully when i leave . we're going to negtiate how much i'll get from each piece she's interested as using as cover art (hopefully she will be).
i've accepted that i'm not going to find work in this town. in fact i stopped looking for work. i can hold out with out work until my lease is up. if i were staying longer i'd continue being paniced. i'm glad i rationed my money when i did because now i'm able to splurge just a little bit. as much as i may have bitched about this town in earlier post i'm gonna miss it. there really is alot to do around here. tons of venues full of good music and people who are into the things i'm into. public transportation is very available, biking through here is fun, especially when idots yell random obscenities at you.
i have great neighbors (including my landlord), if they aren't off beat college students they're offbeat clark professors, we all share food items and hang out together. i hate my neighbors back in jersey, i'm waiting for those pricks to stop being old and just die already. ah worcester...
at the same time i am looking forward to going back to the jerz. i want to finish my last semester at ccm and get my associates already. i want to work and actually make money again (as opposed to watching my bank acount dwindle as i have been since moving to worc.). i do miss being close to new york city (boston just doesn't cut it) closer to andrew and colin and gregg and julieanne. in worcester i pay rent and can't get a job; in jersey i don't pay rent and i do have a job. also my parents just got back from being abroad and i know they have goodies for from relatives.
21 days internship is up 24 days lease is up.

so yesterday after my internship i come home to stumble a upon a letter sent to me from brookylyn and it was the gushiest love letter i have ever received. other fortunate events dominoed from that one. this girl carolyn i met while doing oddjobs for prof. diane stopped by my place later inviting me to join her and others to go swimming. we met up at this kid jeff's house which is near WPI and there was a group of kids all on bikes and we rode through worcester to cooks pond where we kept cool on that hot summer day. then as the sun set we all rode to the green at clark u and had a vegan picnic with vegan chili, guacamoli, crumpets, fruit, and cookies. quite the feast. everyone was really cool and nice too.. we all had bikes, hating cars, non meat eating, and being out of staters in common. carolyn and i are going to take bike repair lessons for now on. alex and cleo are gonna hook me up with places to get free food. the night ended with a phone call from my beaux who SURPRISED me with bus tickets to nyc so i can go see him play his solo project this sunday in brooklyn. i went to the post this morning to drop off some mail.. there's a postal worker there who calls me jerz. he recognizes me cos i drop stuff off so often.

A professor at Clark University paid me $70 for photocopying a whole bunch of her research. she leaves tomorow for mexico on a sebatical. If i can find more random odd jobs like this one i should be okay.. i still though would much rather get hired somewhere so i could have some steady money and so i can get food stamps. my lease is up on Aug 24th(42 days), my internship is over the 21st(39 days). if things keeps going the way they are i'm hi-tailing it outta the baystate the 22nd(40). ugh

the only good thing about this place is my internship and getting some of my work published. i can't get a job here. i must have applied at over 20 places where i am more than qualified to work at and nobody has called me back. my funds are diminishing and i have no income. i tryed applying for food stamps but i am not eligable because i'm an unemployed, motherless, not pregnant college student. the people i have been hoping to see who live in the area, most of them, i haven't even heard the sound of their voice over a telephone line. massachusetts by far, has some of the most atrocious driving i have ever witnessed.
i don't feel special in worcester. 3 years ago i did but today, since i've moved here i don't at all. how could i in a place where not only do i apply for food stamps but get denied. i don't speak much outside of my internship. i miss the company of colin and greg. i miss weekly rendezvous with my handsome/amazing andrew. i hope i never have to live in this town again. at least i'm getting tear sheets for my portfolio out of this place.

so i spent my 4th of july weekend in new york. it was most definately the best 4th of july i have ever experienced. i spent my weekend with andrew who is just wonderful because upon my arival he spoiled me with brie, good bread, and capote.
on the 3rd we hung around 14th street. i found khonnor's handwriting at an underground record shop. then we went to this bar where we bumped into andrew's buddy matt who was showing this experimental band from texas around new york. i danced with lucas, one of the band members, for a little while, and drank 2 guinesses. the bartender was really cool too. he was this chubby black irishman from oregon named jared. he wore horn rimmed glasses and had a white piece of fabric tied around his head like a karate master. he dj's on the side for kicks, has a 9,000+ album collection(non downloads), and is really into gay italian disco from the 80's.
Then on the 4th we went to andrew's friend, warren's, apartment to watch the fireworks from the buildingtop. there was a lot of beer, a lot of tequilla, and a lot of dancing to morissey, the beachboys, iggy pop and more. warren has a very beautiful and playful cat named olaf. olaf also happens to be what i named on of my cameras (yeah i'm a nerd).leaving new york to my new found home in massachusetts was upseting, especially after such a good time.
somewhere in that mishmosh of time i managed to spend 4 hours in newjersey. i raided my parents' home of handsoap, vitamins, and spices. i also grabbed a couple items i left behind, such as, clothes, cd's, and my pillow. i swung by victoria's secret to pick up a paycheck which i was in need of.

so, i've been living in worcester for 9 days. my internship is pretty neat. i like that i'm not doing bitch work. i get actual assignments and my work has been published in the last issue. i've got a bike, and it's really nice. it's grey, has a ladie's frame, hybrid road/touring bike, 10 speed. she has been my fuel free ride since i've been here. i met a couple of hobos today downtown on main street. they reminded me of august of last year when i went traveling to texas with julie. i offered them sanctuary and gave information on the yard in worcester. they really made me want to go traveling again. i might be in the new york/new jersey area this weekend since i have off the 3rd and the 4th for 4th of july. it's not definate yet but i'll keep you posted now that i've got a library card. woo!
